The Dolphin 7.0.1 update has been completed on PlayBox templates.

I have always been an avid fan of WordPress, I find the cms easy to use and highly configurable. After much consideration I have decided to go in this direction as well as designing for Dolphin, mainly due to the fact Dolphin has taken more of a step back than a step forward, I find the new 7 version clunky and restricts freedom to be really creative. I’m a big believer that less is more and that maintaining such a bulky product only causes more maintenance and eventually restrict its progress in the future.

That’s why I believe WordPress is the future, already you have a serious contender ‘Buddypress‘, although it may not offer everything that Dolphin has but it is very customisable, easy to style and easy to add on to, another alternative is Jomsocial for Joomla.

I hate to be a negative nelly but Boonex hasn’t thought through how developers and designers can configure and modify it’s beast. A simple structure without all those crap gradient effects and slow annoying transparency elements would be a good start, also bring back the _header.html files that you could simply drag bits of code around without any issues, why o why did you have to make it so hard to make it so hard to modify, instead you have programmers attempting design, it looks shit!

As you can see the new site is taking a while, it is well worth the wait I promise. Development of the site is expected to be completed in approximately 3-4 weeks.

The new shop will allow other developers and designers to sell their templates, modules and anything else web related, the site will also have a job section so you can post requests there, much like other market websites.

And the best news is that it is free, unlike other digital media websites that charge a premium or commission the new website will be completely free to upload and sell products.

In other news we have our first new Dolphin 7 template RedGloss other colours in the range will follow very soon, I apologise to everyone for taking so long on this but my attention has been on the new market place.

A new PlayBox website is currently being developed, it will be the ultimate resource for Dolphin templates, plugins, extensions and anything related to developing Dolphin. The shop will be open to developers and designers to sell their digital items such as CMS templates, PHP scripts, PSD layouts, Flash animations and much more.

We will also be selling items for other popular CMS systems such as WordPress, Joomla and Magento. Developers and designers will be able to sell their items with ease, protection and with the added bonus of only being charged 20% comission of their sale item (10% for power sellers). This small fee is far lower than any other shop, the profits will be directly taken to enhance the website and ensure traffic flow is at it’s maximum.

Dolphin by Boonex is fast becoming the best social networking cms solution and the development of Dolphin 7 will inevitably make it the best social networking cms on the web. New Dolphin themes are popping up all over the internet, some good some bad and some free. Dolphin templates that are free are of course a bargain, I currently offer a free template located at my shop here for those who want it, the problem with free or even very cheap templates is that hundreds or even thousands of people will download it, why, what is wrong with that you might say? Well everyone will inevitably have the same theme, it’s like having a fantastic car in black but then most of your friends have the same exact car, where is the orginality? What if you surfed the internet and 1 in 20 websites you look at have the same style? How boring would that be, it seems that people don’t care about being different on the internet but that’s what interesting about the internet….it’s different!

So when you decide to download and install a free or even dirt cheap template, just think there will be someone else with exact same website as you and as you should know being different is what makes or breaks the stressfulness of your website. The more you invest into your website the more you will get out of it. We at PlayBox Design try our best to be as original as possible, down to the finish of the designs, we don’t sell thousands or even hundreds of templates a year but we are not so concerned about that, we are more concerned about making a template lasting a year rather than a few months, we only sell premium templates that are as original as possible, so be assured if you buy from us you will be one of only a small number of owners possessing our templates.

Good day from PlayBox Design, we have encountered some errors on our website the past few months due to we are using a single domain with numerous sub domains, we now plan on purchasing another domain to eradicate these problem.

On the positive side of things we are in the process of creating a new website which we hope to release in the coming months, if there are any comments on how to improve our shop, service or templates please let us know as the best comment will receive a fee dolphin template.

Dolphin 6.1.5 and 6.1.6 have been released to fix the issues that were in the previous 6.1.4 version, the templates have been checked accordingly and will work with no problems.

Welcome to the new version of the website, had some real headaches from the transision to the new version but it’s here to say the least!
